Why does weed cause the munchies? Now scientists know

Why does weed cause the munchies? Researchers at Washington State University have found that it activates neurons in the brain to stimulate appetite.

One interesting aspect of the study is that too much weed can kill a mouse's appetite. Mice exposed to a 200 mg dose of cannabis vapor displayed a significant increase in food intake compared to those exposed to just air. At the 100 mg dose, there was no significant difference in food intake from air exposure, and at the 400 mg dose, there was actually a significant decrease in food intake.

So smoking makes you hungry until you smoke so much you cant move (couch lock) - who knew?!? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is my issue:

I'll make a nice, toasted cannabutter bagel. Then, about an hour and change later when it starts to kick in, I'll start munching. I went though half a sleeve of English muffins, a half box of trail mix and a roasted turkey sandwich on rye the other night, this AFTER I ate dinner which was baked salmon and Spanish rice.

How I am still only 185 pounds is anybody's guess.
