I remember during covid ordering some Angle Soft toilet tissue. It was the only stuff I could find. When it arrived two weeks later, it wasn't Angle Soft at all. It was some sort of really small hard paper towel rolls.
I remember this commercial. It came out back in the early 80's when "RUSSIA SUCKS" bumper stickers were still everywhere. Back when advertisers earned their damn money with brilliant ads.
If you saw Rick Astley singing "Never Gonna Give You Up" because of a link you were rick-rolled. Just seeing him on MTV was not being rick-rolled.
As far as understanding, it was a meh / okay song (iirc) originally. Then people swapped it in for valid links and it was funny for a bit until it became un-funny again. But with continued use/push it became funny again (monty python style of repetitive non-funny item until rediculous) and an internet meme.
i believe the re-birth is due to the rick-rolling stlye being one or two decades old.
