OK, here's the article from CNN:
A LOT of people are already drama queening this to kingdom come acting as though it's the biggest 2nd amendment case in history and that the "corrupt SCOTUS" will give guns away like candy.
That is wrong. Completely. Just like the juvenile case was.
This case is all about New York City law on concealed carry permits.
CC permits in the United States vary widely in what it takes to get one. Here in Georgia, it's simple:
In South Carolina, it's a bit different. (And for the record, I really, really like SC's take on this.):
To make matters worse, several times it's been found that CC permits are sold to less than desirable people.
I'm sure the SCOTUS is going to determine that New York's policy is unconstitutional, and rightly so. After all, if your reason to want a CC permit is simply because it's a right guaranteed you by the U.S. constitution, that should be enough.
You shouldn't have to have been assaulted, raped, hospitalized and traumatized before you can exercise your 2nd amendment rights in New York City.
That is exactly what this case is all about. I look forward to the SCOTUS correcting this moronic, pay-to-play policy by ruling it the clearly unconstitutional policy that it is.
