Men have been creatures of habit since the dawn of time. The vast majority of us are very similar in our nature: we don’t like to fuss over things, we like meat and potatoes, we like the occasional sporting event, we don’t particularly care for large family gatherings and if given the choice we’d much rather be in the back yard manning a grill than in a suit in a fancy restaurant.

But that’s just most of us. It’s most certainly not all of us.

Some men are just mean by nature. Some are natural born liars. Some abuse women. Some are cowards.

Trump has proven over the last three years and change that he is all of that. We shouldn’t look past the fact that 25 women have filed complaints of his abuse. We also shouldn’t look past the fact that he has made many women sign non-disclosure agreements to prevent them from talking about how awful he treated them.

We should also not forget that he paid a porn star 130,000 dollars to keep quite about an affair he had with her while his wife was at home with his child.

All of that is before we even get to the “grab them by the pussy” statement which he clearly meant in earnest.

The list goes on and on for Trump.

That somehow the so-called religious right decided that this was their guy to lead the nation is nothing short of staggering. That they continue to support him after the complete debacle that is his Covid-19 response is, to put it kindly, about as un-Christian as you can possibly get.

But all of that is academic. We already knew that. What brought it to a head for many of us yesterday was Trump’s turn tail and run from his own press conference.

Trump has abused women at large as well as the women of the media many times before with snide remarks and misogynist comments and gestures, but yesterday really takes the cake.

After touting what a wonderful job he has done, and how it couldn’t have possibly been done without him, and touting once again a bunch of complete lies as facts, he opened the floor for questions.

The press conference was held in the Rose Garden of the White House, about the best home court advantage you could have as the President of the United States.

For Trump, it wasn’t enough.

After puffing himself up, praising himself and spewing a bunch of complete untruths as facts, Weijia Jiang who works for CBS News asked Trump a simple question.

And then everything went pear shaped. Here’s the transcript of the episode:

Weijia Jiang: (01:00:14)
You’ve said many times that the U.S. is doing far better than any other country when it comes to testing.

Donald Trump: (01:00:22)
Yes.

Weijia Jiang: (01:00:23)
Why does that matter? Why is this a global competition to you if every day Americans are still losing their lives and we’re still seeing more cases every day?

Donald Trump: (01:00:33)
Well, they’re losing their lives everywhere in the world. And maybe that’s a question you should ask China, don’t ask me, ask China that question, okay. When you ask them that question, you may get a very unusual answer. Yes, behind you, please.

Weijia Jiang: (01:00:50)
Sir, why are you saying that to me specifically?

Donald Trump: (01:00:53)
I’m telling you.

Weijia Jiang: (01:00:54)
That I should ask China.

Donald Trump: (01:00:54)
I’m not saying it specifically to anybody. I’m saying it to anybody that would ask a nasty question like that.

Weijia Jiang: (01:00:58)
That’s not a nasty question.

Donald Trump: (01:00:59)
Please go ahead.

Weijia Jiang: (01:01:00)
Why does it matter?

Donald Trump: (01:01:01)
Okay, anybody else? Please go ahead in the back please.

Kaitlan Collins: (01:01:08)
I have two questions.

Donald Trump: (01:01:09)
No, it’s okay, we’ll go over here.

Kaitlan Collins: (01:01:09)
But you pointed to me. I have two questions, Mr. President.

Donald Trump: (01:01:09)
Next, next please.

Kaitlan Collins: (01:01:11)
But you called on me.

Donald Trump: (01:01:13)
I did and you didn’t respond and now I’m calling on the young lady in the back, please.

Kaitlan Collins: (01:01:18)
I just wanted to let my colleague finish, but can I ask you a question.

Donald Trump: (01:01:19)
Okay, ladies and gentlemen thank you very much, appreciate it.

Kaitlan Collins: (01:01:23)
But you called on me.

Donald Trump: (01:01:23)
Thank you very much.

Reading it is bad enough. Watching it take place is quite another. You can watch the exchange on CNN.

Which brings us full circle to Trump’s treatment of women.

I’ve known a person like Trump before. They both picture women as objects that only exist to serve them. In their minds, they were meant to serve, act stupid, wear sexy clothing and keep their mouths shut.

So when a woman is professional, intelligent, educated and starts to speak, it terrifies them. It scares them to death because suddenly they might be put in a position where a woman makes them look stupid.

The fact that they are stupid is a non-factor to them. See, we men have the ability to know someone is a complete idiot but spare them the embarrassment of being made to look the complete idiot they are when in public. We cover for them because in some way we care about the guy, even though he is an idiot.

Women have that same ability. You see it on display when they’re married to men like Trump. They run cover and deflect for their man to keep him from looking the complete idiot that he is just as men do for a buddy.

As with a great many other things, women are better at it than we men are.

But Trump doesn’t have that luxury, see. He had a smart wife once. He couldn’t handle it, so she divorced him and took him to the cleaners. The one he presently has is, at best, mail order. She keeps her mouth shut like Trump wants and lives a life doing essentially what she wants while sucking up the fringe benefits. She gets her digs at Trump by throwing his hand off when he tries to hold her hand and by all but tackling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, drooling all over him and doing God only knows what else to him.

All right in front of the cameras, of course. They’re a match made in hell, paid for with a bounced check.

Trump is more than a national embarrassment. He’s more than a criminal. He’s an insecure, spoiled little child that is so terrified of a woman with a brain that his answer to them, and by extension to all of us is to turn around and huff off in a rage.

The entire planet is ashamed for him as well as of him. He represents what is absolutely the worst values in humanity, let alone men. He redefines the word coward. He will no doubt go down in history as the worst president in American history.

Somewhere, James Buchanan is smiling at long last.

Trump’s antics yesterday were summed up perfectly by someone on the forum with a Monty Python clip. I find it fitting to end this article with it.

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
